Hello Future Tutorees,
My name is Lassandra W., and I am a graduate student at UIC School of Public Health. I am a student in the Environmental Occupational Health Sciences Department where my research work is on human papillomavirus (HPV). While at UIC, I have worked as a teacher assistant for the Principals of Environmental Occupational Health Science
course. Also, I have taught and volunteered for White Crane Wellness Center. This is a volunteer position in which I teach the elderly about taking charge of their health through various workshops that address managing chronic health conditions. I also have a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Also I am currently an instructor at different colleges in Chicago, IL. Biology
is a field that encompasses the scope of every living thing. Everything from the air we breathe to the water we drink is made up of the fundamental aspects of biology. Also, from the microorganisms that are found in soil to the very small microscopic organisms that line our human skin, biology plays a very important part in our everyday life. I have been teaching microbiology
since June 2011 and have enjoyed the teaching experience.
I believe that it is very important for biologist to convey the fundamentals of biology in a way that biology students can build upon. It is my vision that once my students have taken lessons with me that they walk away with the basic knowledge of all aspects of biology, which includes molecular/cell biology, microbiology and genetics
. As an tutor, I will explain the concepts and principles effectively.
I look forward to tutoring you in biology!
