Wikipedia's Definition of a Maven:
"Maven — is a trusted expert in a particular field, who seeks to pass knowledge on to others."

If there’s one word that I could use to describe myself, it would be the word Maven! I really enjoy showing others how to develop their skills in any capacity in which I can be of help.

You can be sure that having me as tutor will be a rewarding experience, because as an avid learner, I too make use of tutoring for my newer initiatives and know what to expect from a tutor. Being on both sides helps be a much better tutor and understand the most effective methods of communicating and demonstrating information and knowledge.

My particular expertise is 2003, 2007, 2010 Microsoft Office Suite Products. This includes. Microsoft’s Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and my own personal favorite, Excel programs. I am fully capable and knowledgeable in all of these programs. However, with excel, I would consider myself as one of the industries’ noteworthy users in terms of expertise.

When I am not tutoring, I am a full time accountant and consultant for an brokerage firm and own a small business. I've consulted and tutored several different groups on the ins and outs of Microsoft Suite Products for nearly 5 years.

My hobbies include playing the drums, reading books, creating excel programs, working out. I hope that this free response finds you well and helps you make the right the decision in your learning and tutoring needs.

I teach beginner drummers the basics of proper posture, grips, tuning of their drums, 40+ elementary rudiments, and dexterity exercises to start them on their way to become bonafide band or stage drummers.

For Intermediate to Advanced students - I tutor a variety of more advanced drum beats that are within my repertoire. I also coach these students on professionalism and etiquette when learning to play with a bands or clients.

Reading

The subject of reading was the subject of my very first tutee. The tutee was a friend of the family who was diagnose with ADHD and had a real hard time in raising her grades in school. This inaugural successful mentor/student relationship is still my most memorable because not only did my tutee overcome some the challenges in her reading, she also taught me about the impact that taking such a challenge can have in both of our lives. Since then, I’ve helped shepherd countless students in grades 5-12 reading & several other subjects successfully. In reading, I am extending my tutoring services to all age groups, and I am well versed in reading & comprehension for of all kinds of literature and prose.

About Me:

As an avid and voracious reader myself, I can understand concerns by parents and students alike that want to improve in their reading and comprehension skills. Being such a vital function of our everyday lives, our skill levels in reading can greatly impact how we interact with, perceive, and understand the world. The one misconception that many have about reading mentorship is that it is only required for those who may not be reading up to their grade or age level. The truth is that almost EVERYONE can and probably needs to improve on the reading and comprehension skills. Reading is a skill that can constantly be improved upon. That is where my mentoring/tutoring can be of help!
