I have a Master's degree in Linguistics, and offer over 7 years of ESL teaching/tutoring experience. My students have consistently given me high marks for my ability to foster a safe learning environment—one which affords students many opportunities to use, explore, and critically think about English, thus making them more self-sufficient learners. Grammar, accent reduction, business/academic writing, and TOEFL preparation are also part of my instruction. I welcome students of all levels, and look forward to helping them become better speakers and learners.
For the past 20-plus years I have also worked as a graphic artist, which includes retouching high-end imagery, and designing and producing print collateral. Photoshop is my main program, although I am also quite comfortable using InDesign and Illustrator. If you are in need of tutoring in Creative Suite, I would look forward to talking with you about your needs. (Note: My Photoshop expertise includes compositing, using complex layers, tonal/color correcting, masking (using channels), techniques for sharpening imagery, and clipping.)
If you're looking for piano instruction, I have a Bachelor's degree in Music with an emphasis in piano performance, and have also taken courses at the graduate level for the same. I was fortunate to have studied with some highly regarded artists--some internationally renown! Naturally, as a performance major, I studied classical repertoire and have given many public solo performances...including performing with an orchestra. I welcome all levels.
