Hi. I recently taught in a healthcare career program at a vocational school downtown, where I tutored in an open lab, and occasionally filled in for lecture instructors. I currently work full time job as a Coder for a large company in downtown Chicago. I completed my Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology at Devry University Online. Subjects I assisted students in included ICD 9 and CPT coding, Medical Terminology, and Anatomy and Physiology. I hold two certifications in Medical Billing and Coding, and recently acquired my RHIT, Registered Health Information Technician.

I previously worked in social services for over 25 years with individuals with special needs, ranging from Autism and mental illness to various levels of developmental disabilities. I have a Master's degree in Counseling, and a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Relations. I am comfortable tutoring in reading, spelling, writing and anything related to special needs.

Special Needs

Special needs is really an umbrella term that includes a wide range of disabilities, both physical and mental. Over the course of my 25+ career, I have worked with individuals with Autism, various forms of Mental Illness, Mental Retardation at all levels, and individuals with dual diagnoses, as well as physical disabilities.
