Hi, my name is Lindsay, and I'm fresh and new, like an overnight paint job on Extreme Home Makeover from Interior Design School (a recent graduate from Harrington College of Design to be exact), where I took Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and a couple of hands worth of industry-standard rendering and drafting programs: AutoCAD, Sketchup, Sketchup-Podium,(think 3D Studio Max images only in cosmic time)!
My proficiency in the entire Adobe Suite Software on a scale from 1-5, 5 being the highest, is a solid 4.5 because I can teach such things as perspectives, clipping masks, methods to create logos, font creation, advertisement layout styles, simple photo/image correcting skills with the burn, spot-healing brush, and the stamp tool to name a few.
In our lessons, it's best to see where your skills stand at before I dive into the lessons so I can place more focus on the areas that you will need for your professional and scholar endeavors! I am very flexible with hours and lessons after we go over the core tools.
I lived and studied abroad in Besancon, France where I went to fulfill my Bachelor's in French Linguistics (Le Centre Linguitique Applique to be exact). While there, I took phonetics, grammar, and cultural courses. Upon arriving back Stateside, I immersed myself in French literature courses while extending my vocabulary with more grammar courses. My proficiency level on a scale from 1-5, 5 being the highest, is a 4 since I am fluent and can create multiple sentences with the same meaning, have a thorough understanding for sentence structures, and can handle speaking to native speakers quite well.
I also have excelled while taking private lessons in Piano as a child. I was awarded "Student of the Month" on several occasions, and have expertise in; jazz, classical, pop hits, and Christmas ensembles. I have taken lessons from level one through level eight. Recently, I enjoy teaching myself new Christmas mixes as well as rockin' Pop Hits. I'd love to teach you some of your favorite kinds of music too!

I look forward to meeting you and hearing about why you chose a tutor in French, Interior Design, or Piano!
All the Best,
I took a class on this during my time at Harrington College of Design and have since been using this both personally and professionally for job interviews and books. Part of the Adobe Suite Software package, Indesign is a software program that allows you to create published advertisements and both online and office portfolios for whatever industry you choose! In InDesign, you will not be doing any image editing, rather image and text layout and implementation. Lessons that we will discuss include font selections, various grid layouts, and getting our portfolio or book ready to be viewed online and/or printed!
Adobe Photoshop stands with Illustrator as one of the most used programs in the Adobe Suite Software package. Some things I can teach you include; the spot healing brush, lasso tool, image perspectives, the stamp tool, cropping, image size/format, and vector masks. I will also teach you how to apply these to graphic design principles and published advertisements!
Autocad has many practical uses including those for simple floor plan, elevations, to zoomed-in dimensioned details. I can teach you; basic knowledge of key pad short cuts to navigation, creating and editing text and dimension lines, scaling, layout/plotting, and how to efficiently depict general floor plan, electrical, ceiling, lighting, hvac, and simple leaders (arrows) to highlight materials and textiles in several ways!
Basically, since this is such a huge field, I will see what areas are the most crucial you will need to work on before we go on to apply these to larger projects!
I have taken two and a half classes on Drawing while at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and Harrington College of Design and all four years of High School, where I excelled in my classes, always obtaining As.
In our lessons, I would teach you basic drawing skills that would include the following; one-point perspective, two-point perspective, and multiple vantage point perspectives of the same space/object, various drawing textures/styles, etching, hon your artistic hand, contour, and still life (which is my favorite and best).
I took French all throughout high school and college to obtain my Bachelors in French from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln & Le Centre Linguistique Applique in Besancon, FR.
Depending on your level and where you want to be, some of the lessons could include: history immersion, lyrics/song interpretation, general BAGS structure, passed tense and imperfect tense verb conjugation, and general verb and sentence structures based on high school and college lessons of my own.
Recently, I have begun teaching Piano to a family of three kids and I'm loving it! I promise I will make a great teacher--inspiration guaranteed too! As a student, I excelled at Piano, being selected as "Student of the Month" on several occasions during my studies. I have knowledge of level one or basic piano up until level 8, and have learned a variety of Holiday, Classical, Jazz, and recently remade Pop Hits that I would enjoy teaching you how to play! Our lessons would consist of going over "Finger Power" books as well as the Chords first and foremost before we learn a new song every week! If you're really good and quick, I might even get you a fun piano book to learn!
Excellent tutor, perfect for a beginner like myself! — It has been great working with Lindsay. Lessons are well thought out and fun. I was attempting to learn French on my own, but I found out it is a whole easier with the help of a knowledgeable tutor. Lindsay is also very flexible with her schedule, last minute lessons are always possible and she is also very understanding if you need to cancel at the last minute. If you are in need of a French tuto ...
