My studies in U.S. and educational history have persuaded me that education is the key to individual empowerment and social transformation. As a scholar and professional, one of my goals is to make quality education accessible to all. Tutoring services like WyzAnt are a great way to support students in their journey. Whether a student is struggling in school or simply wishes to strengthen his or her skills, I can help!
I have worked with all kinds of students, from kindergarten to college! As a volunteer at Burr Oak Academy (Calumet Public Schools Dist. 132), I had the opportunity to directly engage with students in the classroom and assist teachers in developing a reading program for kindergartners. Instilling a love of learning and reading at a young age is so important!
My education at the University of Illinois at Chicago provided me with rigorous training in writing, communication, and analysis. As a tutor at the UIC Honors College, I was able to effectively use these skills to assist undergraduate students with their assignments and study habits. I can help elementary, high school, and college students improve their understanding of reading assignments, organize their thoughts, and effectively communicate their ideas in writing.
Finally, as a professor’s assistant, I learned to evaluate student work and prepare materials to aid students in their research projects. Research can be daunting, but I can help students develop the skills they need to complete both internet and library projects.
