I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2008 with a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences with an additional major in Logic and Computation. I finished my M.A. in Mathematics at UCLA in December 2009.
I began working as a teaching assistant in 2006 while I was still an undergraduate at Carnegie Mellon, and have continued to TA at UCLA and UIC. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
