"We are working for understanding and not knowledge." This is one of Professor Kennette C's favorite quotes; it was spoken by her former professor from Mundelein College.
Professor C keeps this at the heart of her instruction to students. She received her B.A. in English Literature from Mundelein College where she graduated Cum Laude. She later received her master's in English literature from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. With that being said, she still has to work on spelling and fragments.
She teaches English Composition 100 and 101 at Harold Washington College which is one of the City Colleges of Chicago. In 2007, Professor C was selected by the City Colleges to be part of the Master Faculty Program. The Program trained selected faculty Best Practices. Faculty then led seminars for their peers on these best practices.
She also created and facilitated a series of placement testing workshops to help Harold Washington College students test into English 101.
Professor C is a former freelance journalist whose writing has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times and various community newspapers, magazines, and anthologies.
