My name is Eric. I'm studying mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I wish I could be a student my whole life so I could learn as much as I possibly could. I believe one of the reasons I love school and learning so much is because I see it as a constant challenge to understand concepts I find interesting and finding new doors to all sorts of ideas.
As a math student I stride to understand each concept as simply as possible. In my experience tutoring, all the students I've helped have shown to have the capability to understand these concepts. The trick seems to lie in how it is explained or presented to them and making connections to previous concepts or things they are familiar with. I love tutoring new students because I love to figure out how each one thinks and learns.
Mathematical concepts are very important not only because of their applications but also because its a great way to exercise the brain. However, since each brain thinks differently, it can be a struggle to find the right teaching approach to optimize each students level of understanding and thus exercise math. Without this understanding, math, and other subjects, can be a drag and students might even be repelled from scientific fields. I find that most of the time it is me asking students questions to help them find a method suited for them.
Apart from studying engineering, I also play and write music, I love to read philosophy, I love travelling and seeing natural landscapes, and being active in nature.
In the economic world of monetary values and debts, I see the way we manage and understand science and our natural world as the answer to our future.
This means understanding MATH!
If your having trouble I would love to help you out! Together we can find our own path to reach higher levels of understanding.
