Elementary (K-6th)

I have my BA in Elementary Education (K-9) and MA in Bilingual Special Ed K-12 with LBS I certificate. In addition, I have 22 years of experience teaching elementary school children.

Phonics

As a teacher that holds Ma in Bilingual Special Education, I took many courses such as methods in reading, and reaching the struggling reader. Many of these courses focused on helping student acquire phonics and use phonics as part of whole reading. I do not believe in teaching phonics with out Whole Language.

Study Skills

As a Learning Behavior Specialist, and a teacher in a Therapeutic Day School, I am teaching Study Skills on daily basis. I have a high rate of student reintegration in general setting.

I have a Masters degree from George Washington University in Bilingual Special Education and I am Certified in Special Ed with IL board of education (LBSI).

Hebrew

My Bachelors degree major is in Biblical Studies and Hebrew language.

ESL/ESOL

I have my ESL certificate from IL Board of Ed. I hold MA in ESL from George Washington University. I taught in Russian Transitional School and given private language classes to people of all ages for many years. My favorite group was made of 70+ year-old women who wanted to learn to read Hebrew. They had so much fun and so did I. For a decade now, one of them comes over to me to thank me for giving her the ability to read the prayer book during services.

I ran chess clubs in Edgebrook Elementary and McCorkle Math and Science Academy

Russian

I was born in Russia and Russian is my first language. I also have my ESL certification through the IL board of education.

Bible Studies

I am a graduate of Bais Yaakov High School and Beth Rivka Seminary for Girls. I studied Bible is school from the original Hebrew text and commentaries. I continue to study to apply it to life on daily basis.

Dyslexia

I have a MA degree in Bilingual Special Education from George Washington University and graduated with 4.0. I am also certified in Feuerstein method, which helps to develop catalytic thinking and and other cognitive skills. I have over 2 years experience teaching children with special needs and a great record of quick results. Parents usually are amazed when they see their child read a grade level for the first time.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
