Thank you for your interest in learning Korean. My name is YoonKyoung (or Christine).
I tutor Korean/English on a private basis. I have helped many non Korean speakers (some Korean Americans, Americans, and Hispanics lately) with Korean language and/or Korean culture
(my mom taught Korean traditional manner & tea ceremony master back in Korea).
My current Korean students include a set of brothers every Fridays and occasional holidays
and a few adult students upon their needs/schedules.
My other students are actually Korean international students who came to USA for their study.
I feel I was useful when they appreciate my guide to new perspectives and approaches in their study
(studying in America is very different to the way we were educated back in Korea).
I also assist my students in finding their learning styles and study techniques.
Sometimes, I match my K students and E students as language/cultural exchange partners. Win-Win
Currently, I work as a State Pre-K teacher during the week in Evanston area and
Sunday school teacher/coordinator at a Korean Presbyterian Church of Chicago.
Often, I invite my grownup students to come to volunteer at my church.
Watching them experience language/cultural exchange with my students, another Win-Win.
For last 15 years, my students (ages 3 - 63) have taught me there are different learning styles
and the more I know/respect their learning styles, the better I can assist their learning.
After all, teachers open the door, you enter by yourself!
Please feel free to contact me if you're interested. Thank you!
