I recently graduated from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. Olin is a school that focuses not only on providing a high-quality education but also on radically changing the way in which engineering is taught. Some of my favorite experiences in college involved figuring out the best way to explain or demonstrate technical concepts to other students.

My teaching experience includes developing and helping to teach robotics to middle-schoolers through Tufts University's Center for Engineering Educational Outreach, teaching tutorials for a pilot course on experimental engineering and differential equations, and running an after-school program designed to teach programming and math concepts to 4th graders. In addition to engineering, I have experience working with students on algebra, multivariable calculus, physics, statistics, environmental sustainability, microbial biology, materials science, and English as a second language.

Piano

I have played piano for 17 years, including two years during which I prepared conservatory auditions. I have played at the Interlochen festival collage concert as well as been accepted to the Adamant piano festival and several others. In the past, I have tutored piano students aged 5 and 7.

Cello

I have studied cello for 13 years, most recently with Tanya Carey of Roosevelt University in Chicago. I was the principle cellist in the Protege Philharmonic Orchestra in Chicago 2007-2008, and have performed solo, orchestral, and chamber music often. MATLAB

In the course of my engineering coursework, I have used MATLAB and Simulink extensively for applications such as simulating physical phenomena by finding numerical solutions to differential equations, video and image analysis, modeling chaotic dynamical systems, data collection and analysis, and curve fitting. I have also tutored younger students in Simulink and data collection and analysis with MATLAB.

Mechanical Engineering

I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Olin College of Engineering. My studies included thermodynamics, basic transport phenomena and fluid dynamics, mechanics of materials, mechanical design, and basic controls.
