I am located in Chicago neighborhood of Uptown/Lakeview.

I have 25 years of experience teaching middle school & lower high school English, Math & Science.

I am the father of five, including two high school students.

My method is instruction is client focused, not subject focused.

I concentrate on teaching the subject process of solving a problem or completing an assignment. I do not just give the answers, I work with the client to "think through" the process of the problem/assignment.

My atmosphere for tutoring sessions are light, comfortable and a safe place to ask questions and make mistakes.

Algebra 1

I have expertise in teaching and helping students understand processes of decimals, fractions, expressions, evaluation, variables, order of operations, one-step equations, multi-step equations, factoring single terms and mono/polynomials. I also do solving linear equations (all forms) and graphing linear equations.

Algebra 2

I've been tutoring and teaching mathematics, science, English and test prep for over 25 years primarily to middle and lower high school students. Through my current professional job I work with teachers on curriculum develop and lesson planning. Therefore, I know exactly what students need to know throughout school year. My expertise includes all math subjects up to and including Geometry. Please see my "Subject Listing" for all approved subjects.

Prealgebra

Pre-algebra is the basis for almost all future math. I teach the process of thinking through solving expressions and equations well-versed clients in order of operations, combining like terms, decimal and fraction operations, etc. We will also spend time on word problems, which can be intimidating if not present the correct way. I have a 5-step process that is non-threatening and leads to successful results.
