I am a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I completed my master's degree in 2010 and I am currently working toward my PhD.
During my four years at UIC, I have been a teaching assistant for Algebra I, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Finite Math for Business Majors, Pre-calculus, Calculus I, and Calculus II. I have also tutored students in these subjects both privately and at UIC.
My passion for mathematics is focused on teaching. My goal with each student is to first assess his or her skill level and, from there, build a true understanding of the subject. Many math classes are formatted as a series of hoops to jump through, with little regard for students who fall behind or do not begin the class with the necessary background. I work as hard as possible to help students overcome these difficulties.
