Are you searching for someone to help you or your child develop academic or linguistic confidence in Spanish or English? Prepare for an upcoming test like the: ISEE, ISAT, ACT, TerraNova, SAT, TOEFL, or GED? Learn effective study skills and organizational techniques? Get some homework assistance?
With over six years of teaching experience throughout the United States, Latin America, and Asia, I have been exposed to a variety of learning styles, developmental differences, and educational systems. I aim to work closely with each of my students in order to assess their individual needs and strengths so that I can effectively support them in meeting their goals. I am a graduate student at DePaul University where I am studying for a Masters degree in Bilingual Bicultural Education, as well as certifications in Elementary/Middle School Education, and endorsements in Spanish, Social Studies, ESL, and Bilingual Education. In addition, I have an CELTA (Certification for English Language Teaching to Adults) from the University of Cambridge, as well as two Bachelors degrees from Oregon State University in Social Work and International Studies.
I tutor throughout the northside of Chicago. Classes can be held in students homes, cafes, or libraries. In addition to tutoring services, I also provide educational consulting, individualized curriculum development, and liaison support between families and schools. Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have and I look forward to working with you!
