I am a PhD Psychology student specializing in Social and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I am looking to find tutoring jobs locally in the Chicago suburbs.

I absolutely love statistics and SPSS. My favorite subject to tutor is Introductory Statistics. This class is a bear for many students to get through; I enjoy providing many alternative ways to think about the topics in this course in order to facilitate student understanding. I currently work at my university as a data analyst, a job I applied for simply because I love working with data. I am passionate about these subjects and I love to share this passion through tutoring.

I have a passion for learning, especially for topics involving the study of human behavior. I have taught Introductory Psychology at the college level and I'm very familiar with that course. My research interests involve topics within personality and work psychology, especially introversion in the workplace and work-life boundary management.

I am an encouraging and enthusiastic tutor, and as a graduate student, this work would really help me out. If this sounds like what you're looking for, I would love to hear from you.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

GRE

I took the GRE in January 2012, and I feel that the preparation I did was effective in raising my score. In addition, I've learned many tips about test taking from my many Psychology courses. The trick to improving your score is to practice often and effectively. I can help you learn how to do this.

Psychology

As a graduate student of Psychology at a research-based university, I feel well qualified to assist with studying for your psychology course. I teach Introductory Psychology at the college level. I'm intimately familiar with that course. Psychology courses often turn out to be much more difficult than you expected when you signed up; I'm happy to help you get caught up and receive a grade you're happy with.

Statistics

The subject of Statistics is a passion for me. Statistics was the first class I took that convinced me to major in Psychology, a statistics-heavy discipline. I have had several graduate level courses in Statistics including Analysis of Variance, Hierarchical Regression, and Psychometrics. I love the material of introductory Statistics courses and I'm very firm on the basics.

Great tutor — Stacy was a great match for me. She made statistics enjoyable and easier to learn. I would recommend Stacy to anyone that might be struggling in this type of class. It shows that she enjoys what she teaches, she understands the material well, and makes learning overall fun. I will be using Stacy again before this class is over. ...
