My love of teaching comes from a lifelong love of learning. Having studied in the States and overseas for many years, I realize I get along well with people with very different backgrounds. With my two years experience of being a college teaching assistant and a private tutor, I am trained to adjust my teaching style according to the students' levels. I believe that every student can own their excellency through hard work, and everyone can do well on math.
I specialize in tutoring math for success in high schools and on the SAT, ACT, AP and also GRE exams. I am experienced in teaching both regular high school math and AP calculus courses. Instead of merely teaching the students how to get the correct answer, I teach them how to think. I am good at explaining the complicated theories in simple languages, therefore my classes are easily accepted by students with all different starting levels.
I received A in my Cambridge A-level Exams for math and sciences, and I received full score in my SAT math and AP calculus. When I was taking my Bachelor's degree of Civil Engineering at UIUC, I was enrolled in the honored math program, and I received nearly full score in my GRE math section. During my undergraduate study at UIUC, I also worked as a Teaching Assistant, a Research Assistant, a Private Tutor for college students and a Private tutor on high school math. I am currently graduating and seeking a part time job as a high school math tutor.
I hold myself to a high standard. For that reason, I often ask for feedback, and I never bill for a lesson in which the student or parent is not completely satisfied with my tutoring.
I try to be flexible with time. While I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy, I offer makeup classes. I am happy to travel to work so as to ensure a quiet and conducive class environment.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!
