My Teaching Style:
I like to use student's strengths to help them with their difficulties. I also use varied techniques depending on the student's needs.
Tutoring Experience:
--Tutoring students in elementary school through graduate school.
--Tutoring subjects including reading, writing, science, psychology, linguistics, math, statistics, and test preparation (ACT, GRE).
--Tutoring students with disabilities including ADHD, autism, and language loss due to stroke.
Other Work Experience:
--Research work including using MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
--Professional proofreading and editing.
Education:
--MA in Speech and Hearing Science -- included coursework in language learning, language-based disabilities, neurologically-based disabilities, anatomy & physiology, statistics, and research.
--BA in Linguistics & Psychology -- emphasized developmental psychology and language, but also included 2 years of Spanish and pre-med prerequisites (biology, chemistry, etc.), among other areas.
--Currently studying computer programming to pursue an AAS degree.
