Hello my name is Phil and I am currently a Presidential Scholar at Saint Louis University. I received a full financial scholarship and took the chance at a wonderful opportunity to learn. I am involved in Saint Louis University's Medical Scholars (a prestigious and shortened medical program) as well as a business student in the Cook School of Business. I am majoring in Biology under the Pre-Medical track in the school of Arts and Sciences as well as Economics under the business school. I tutored in elementary to junior high level math, science, and English throughout high school and have ACT, SAT, and SAT II preparation skills fresh in my mind. I have a cumulative ACT score of 36 out of 36 and a single test score average of 34 out of 36. I have an SAT score of 2290 out of 2400 as well as two SAT II scores that consist of a 770 out of 800 in English Literature and an 800 out of 800 in Math II. I am highly focused on test taking skills in a "beat the exam" mentality as well as specific skills in each subject.
Tutoring in any high school level including AP is available for both biology and economics (Macro and Micro).
After school tutoring is available for every day homework. I have tutored in the Kumon system and can teach basic math skill perfection as well as good English comprehension and writing skills.
I am also fluent in the Korean language and communication will be easy with any young Korean students with Korean-speaking parents or parents themselves. ESL and TOEFL tutoring is only offered for Korean-speaking students as English tutoring is more proficiently taught as a second language with the support of your first language. I offer exam vocabulary help.
I also love fitness. I have made it a passion to be physically healthy. I believe that overall health is the number one way to a better education and work ethic. I am a runner and cyclist and enjoy the outdoors as well as the gym. I play basketball and football for my own pleasure. Overall health planning is available.
Music is also a passion of mine. I have played the classical cello for over ten years and have 5 years of guitar playing experience. I am open to students with little to no experience with either instrument and students with basic music theory knowledge. For those on the Suzuki Method I am trained to teach up until Volume Four.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon!
