Children are our most valuable treasure. It is our job to insure their future.
The best way we can protect our children's future is to make sure they succeed in school. How do we do this? We assist them in the subjects that need improvement, motivate them to succeed and be confident, help them develop good studying skills and habits they can use anytime, and that learning can be fun.
My belief about learning is that all students can learn. The students learn at their own pace, and they have different levels of comprehension and learning. Even if they appear distracted, they are listening on some level. Each person has a different learning style and you must take that into consideration when presenting materials to them. As for my beliefs on teaching, I firmly believe that if you show you care, take the time to work with the students, are able to excite them, keep their interest, and get them asking questions, they will develop a thirst for knowledge that will keep them looking for more.
My belief on knowledge is that it is the key to opening doors. When given the right keys anything is possible. I believe that when you instill a love of learning, and nurture the curiosity we are all born with, you grant the student endless possibilities to grow.
I believe everything is worth knowing. Now the extent of that knowledge depends on your goals and career choices. I love learning new things; even if they seem trivial you never know when you may need it. I believe in the “be prepared” motto and to do this you need knowledge.
My personal educational philosophy is that all children can learn. You need to be able to use a variety of tools i.e. experiences, practice, logic, values, ethics, and finding truths to keep the students interested and get them asking questions. You also need to show you care and are committed to helping the students and their community.
I have a Master's in Elementary Education. As a tutor my goals are to keep an open mind, have a positive attitude, and high expectations. I have found that people will rise to the occasion when given a challenge. I will give each student my best, to show them that they are important, to take the time to get to know them, and to listen to them; to be part of the community and interact with the parents, grandparents, and neighbors. I will give each student the same opportunities to learn regardless of demographics.
