Hello All -
I'm looking forward to working with students who take school seriously and are motivated to do well. Having gone though undergraduate and graduate school, I have acquired so many skills when it comes to how best to study and learn different types of material and information and I want to pass on that hard-earned knowledge to students of all ages; it's never too early to get a head start and it's never too late to bring yourself up to speed and reach your goals, all it takes is confidence in yourself, motivation to do your best, and the resolution to try. I have a broad training in Psychology (B.S. and M.S.) and I can help students understand, learn, and get excited about social and physical sciences and math taking homework from paper to real-life using examples from practical applications and research to help make learning more interesting and meaningful. I have a strong background in biological and physiological science, social science, and I have always loved math, taking every statistics course available in both undergraduate and graduate school. I tutored Algebra in high school, and went on to further my knowledge in math, making me a great candidate for helping others understand and learn everything from Algebra to ANOVA, Regression, Multivariate statistics, and many types of predictive equation modeling. I am also well trained in using statistics programs utilized by both academics and industry such as SAS, SPSS, LISREL, and EQS.
I have always loved learning and once I became passionate about Psychology I have never stopped. I want to utilize all the skills for success I gained during my education to help students by identifying how they are currently studying a subject to figure out what might be holding them back, how they learn best (audio, visual, spacial) so that I can teach them how to get organized and apply key study skills tailored to them to improve their ability to understand and learn material, helping them in both the short-term and the long-term. I have always found that with improvement in school success and grades comes confidence and motivation to continue to do well, and that is what I want to inspire in the students I help. I was lucky enough to have some amazing teachers and professors in school who inspired me to want to learn and helped me to do my best and I hope to be able to do the same for every student I tutor.
