If you are a student who wants to get higher grades with improved written assignments, contact me. If you need help with college admission statements, resumes and cover letters for job applications, contact me. I can help with your writing, from proofreading to extensive editing on all your needs: short essays, term papers, research papers, and dissertations. In addition, I can format your work in APA style, having used it often in school and work.

If you are an employee who needs to prepare any type of report for your job, contact me. Throughout my employment, primarily in the nonprofit sector, I have authored and edited many research and annual reports, summaries, comprehensive literature reviews, and research proposals. I have a B.S. in Psychology and a Master's in Social Work and completed research, statistics, and epidemiology work at Columbia University. I have excellent writing skills and mastery of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

My expertise in the English language comes from learning it, and all its rules and exceptions, as a second language when I was very young. This helped me excel all through school from an intensive college prep H.S., to the rigorous PhD program at Columbia. Most recently, I taught Research Methods and Social Policy to graduate students and am currently working exclusively in research, writing, editing, and proofreading.

General Computer

I learned how to use word processing for school and work and started out with Wordperfect, then moved on to Word. I also learned how to use SPSS and SAS for statistics, and other programs at each new job that I had for a few years. I was fascinated by templates for documents and the ease and speed of lengthy calculations using computer programs, and lots of other things that can be done on a computer. Thus, I have taught myself how to use the computer for working, (playing?) with music, photographs, and fun things like brochures, invitations, and flyers.

Music History

My background in music includes piano lessons for 12 years, course work in history, theory and appreciation of music in high school and college. For the past four years, I have spent my free time reading about and listening to all types of music on the internet, which led me to reading several books on history and development of music. All this has given me expertise in music.

Study Skills

My study skills are excellent and I have used and improved them throughout my academic advancement. I have always received excellent grades, beginning with an intensive high school college prep course (Honors and AP courses, received Honors and High Honors). Next, a Bachelors of Science degree at a Jesuit university, Masters in Social Work at UIC and a doctoral program at Columbia University in New York City. I did very well throughout my years in academia, which was due to excellent study skills.

I use various study methods, including: taking good notes in class lectures, highlight important points in texts and other reading materials handed out (e.g. journal articles), writing very good outlines of book chapters, and locate, define, understand, and be able to explain salient concepts and theories.
