One of my favorite activities is to work one on one with a student so that he can learn to do something he hasn't been able to do before. I have worked with young kindergarten children up to older adults. I have more than fifteen years experience as a teacher and tutor.
I believe in getting to know my students and where they are in understanding whatever subject we are working on. Together we need to have clear goals and expectations. Each of us will have tasks to do outside of tutoring session time. I will be preparing for lessons and evaluating student work. My students will have assignments to complete. Some of what we do will be fun, some will involve serious work, but we can both enjoy the rewards of a job well done.
