Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I thoroughly enjoy tutoring ACT Math due to the diversity of subject matter. With directed practice, a student can definitely improve his/her test results in a reasonable amount of time. My methods have proven to be very successful.

Calculus

I taught freshman and sophomore calculus and differential equations at a major engineering college. It was a comprehensive two year curriculum. My approach is to try different examples to explain the material. We will go over any subject as many times as necessary for the student to understand.

Differential Equations

I taught calculus and differential equations at an engineering school for seven years. This was a two year curriculum.

Discrete Math

I have a Masters degree in applied mathematics and most coursework for a doctorate. This includes linear algebra, modern algebra, mathematical physics, topology, complex and real variable analysis and functional analysis in addition to calculus and differential equations.

Linear Algebra

I have a Masters degree in applied mathematics and most coursework for a doctorate. This includes linear algebra, modern algebra, mathematical physics, topology, complex and real variable analysis and functional analysis in addition to calculus and differential equations.

Logic

I have a Masters degree in applied mathematics and most coursework for a doctorate. This includes linear algebra, modern algebra, mathematical physics, topology, complex and real variable analysis and functional analysis in addition to calculus and differential equations.

Physics

I have had many physics courses and much related subject matter in my under-graduate engineering coursework and graduate work in applied mathematics. I bring a diverse background to the tutoring sessions.

Excellent Tutor — My daughter was thoroughly impressed with Harry and after just a couple of classes, I could see a change in her interest with calculus. She is more confident now and enjoys the session with Harry and his teaching methods. Thanks, Harry! ...
