Hello and Welcome!
My name is Starr. Here I have the opportunity to give you insight into my academic credentials, experience, and tutoring approach. I have received my Master's Degree with Concordia University as a Certified Education Technology Specialist. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. My teaching credentials include Behavioral Specialist (LBS1). I have been teaching now for over 6 years. I have taught in elementary and middle school, as well as secondary education settings. The subject areas that I have co-taught include: biology, introduction to physics and chemistry, earth science, U.S. history, American history and algebra. I have really enjoyed working with the wide range of students that my teaching certificates allow me to reach. My teaching degree has allowed me to offer on-going support in a variety of subject areas and groups of students ranging from one-to-one, small groups, and whole groups. This exposure provides me with a lens to understand the expectations of the general education classroom, while providing the extra supports that students may need to be successful.
My philosophy in life states "The focus in life is not the challenges that we have; rather the force of energy that we use to make changes towards those challenges”
