I am a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese. Upon earning a bachelor's degree of Law and Diplomacy in Taiwan, I started working as a museum docent, and realized that I was drawn to the field of Education. One year later I went to Rutgers, the state university of New Jersey to study Language Education and earned a master's degree of Education.
Because of family and work, I have lived in different cities both in the US and Asia. I have worked as college English instructor in Taiwan Academy of Arts, Language interpreter for Language Line LLC, relocation consultant and substitute teacher at the International School of Beijing.
My method of teaching language is learner-centered instruction. I will use authentic ways to integrate different approaches and materials with awareness of cultural aspects of language use. Learning to communicate in another language is not easy, so keeping students interested and motivated is the key. I will help students connect their language learning with their educational or life goals to succeed in learning a new language!
