I graduated with my B.S. in Mathematics from Benedictine University in 1997. I am type-09 certified to teach mathematics in grades 6 through 12 in the State of Illinois. I earned my certification through Trinity Christian College in 2009. Due to the saturated job market, I am still currently seeking my first full-time contract. However, I have spent the last two-and-a-half years at Troy Middle School in Plainfield as a substitute teacher and home bound tutor. I come highly recommended by my administrators and fellow mathematics teachers, one of whom is the accelerated mathematics teacher for the school. In addition to having a very active private tutoring roster of mathematics and science students, I have also worked at a franchised tutoring center as their prime mathematics tutor for grades six through twelve, including ACT preparation.
I am very passionate about mathematics and my teaching of it. I want the United States of America to rank number one in the world in science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM. Through my teaching, I want to do what I can to help our Country achieve that goal. To assist me in this endeavor, I also bring with me approximately eleven years of non-teaching career experiences, including small business, information technology, database programming and analysis.
It is my desire to prepare today’s students for their future in the Global Economy. I want to help them find their place in it by helping them explore as many potential career choices as possible through my teaching of the Common Core in mathematics, as well as how mathematics relates to careers in science, technology, engineering and more.
