I have been teaching elementary, middle school, and high school students over my career, working with the Chicago Board of Education, three State of Illinois Mental Health Facilities, and over ten years teaching in a psychiatric facility for children and adolescents, as both a Director and as a teacher. I specialize in special education cross categorical, autism, learning disabilties, emotional and social disorders, and students who have suffered PTSD with learning and attention deficit disorders.
I am able to work with very troubled students who have issues with authority figures, poor concentration, and similiar problems with concentration and focusing. I have worked with both small groups and individual students, and I work with each student on their own level, ability, and capabilies, with encouragement and positive feedback at all times to inspire and put a sense of drive into a student to want to achieve and excel, and be goal driven.
I am an experienced teacher who is devoted to helping students achieve, with committment to their well being, and I take my responsibility very seriously to do the very best job that I can to see success, and will seek to instill success in each student I have the opportunity to work with as well.
