I really believe in the power of being multidimensional and exploring new avenues of learning. With that mindset, I've engaged in domestic and international teaching/tutoring experiences that have helped to shape my perspective on education as a whole, including stints in Thailand and Costa Rica, along with student teaching in Chicago Public Schools.
I maintain an educational philosophy that gives credence to the idea that creativity and enthusiasm are crucial in helping a student to not only understand curriculum, but also to enjoy the learning process itself. I use teaching methods that involve linking subject matter to modern-day examples of everyday things that students are familiar with. This is especially important when dealing with subjects such as history, civics, mathematics, religious studies, grammar, and literature.
