My name is William D., but everyone calls me Liam
I feel the first thing I should say is that I have an intense love for everything Japanese, especially the language. Such a grand interest has led me to studying abroad, working for a leading Japanese product provider (ENAGIC), hosting exchange students, and studying Japanese linguistics in college.
Through my education in Linguistics I've learned that native speakers of a language find it hard to prescribe the rules of their language often providing a lot of "what" and very little "how" or "why" to do things in their language. In contrast, because I was an English speaker first, I have the ability to to not only empathize with English speakers , but I can efficiently filter the rules of Japanese into English so that an English speaker can get a far tighter grasp on Japanese. Pretty cool right?
In short, I'd be incredibly thrilled to teach anyone interested in learning Japanese. My interest has led me to become what I am today; a happy, confident, and proficient Japanese speaker, and I would love to pass on that joy to someone else.
