My name is Carol. I have been helping my family members and friends to pass their college courses or middle and high School students to pass math in a variety of math areas such as Pre-algebra, algebra I, II, college Algebra, statistics, elementary statistics, business statistics, etc. I am very patient and will work to see that you become more confident in mathematics. Do you feel that math is not your thing? I have taught failing students in middle and high school and watch them move from an F student to an A or B student in math. I will work with you to do the same! I have tutored students in the cooperative learning lab for 4 years while I was working on my bachelors degree. I have also tutored in remedial math classes, accounting, elementary statistics, calculus and much more. I also tutored students who were preparing for the college entrance exams at the City University of New York at Queensborough in New York. My favorite subjects to tutor are Pre-algebra, Algebra, Basic Math and Elementary Statistics.
I also like Business Math. I know that you will be seeking help from someone who will be patient and understanding and I am confident that I will provide just the kind of help that you need or that will make you feel very comfortable working with math problems that is because I will make sure you reach your goals. I am able to do this because I enjoy taking the time to explain hard to understand concepts in mathematics. I am confident that while you may not like math or be very disgusted with it, I will do whatever I can to help you overcome any math anxiety and frustration or discomfort you may be having with math subjects. Including understanding abstract or "over your head" problems. I am able to do this because I too got a lot of tutoring in mathematics before I entered college and it was very helpful to me. So, I know the benefits that tutoring can have and that is why I would love the opportunity to help you as well.
I love to utilize manipulatives,calculators, etc to aide in students learning. So if you are having trouble using the calculator to solve problems I will be able to assist you with the TI-83 and TI83-plus and some scientific calculators. I recommend the TI-83 or TI83 Plus graphing calculators that can assist with graphs, functions, equations, etc.
