I am a teacher who has taught for over thirty years. I taught at Concordia Language Camps for three years. Why is this important? Because the philosophy of the camps is to use the language to teach the language. I graduated from Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa and attended the Universite d' Aix En Provence in Avignon, France. I have returned every two years with students to France, Spain and Belgium. I was nominated for Iowa State Teacher of the Year in 1979-1980, and I received the Iowa World Language Distinguished Service Award in 2008.
More importantly, my students enjoyed my French and English classes because I like students and being around them. I have students who now have their degrees in French and live in France and Quebec.
French is more than just the language; it is a way of thinking about which students so enjoy learning.
I would be pleased to help your child or you discover this world.
