I have a degree in economics which included course work in accounting, finance, management, and marketing. In addition, I have studied chemistry, biochemistry, biology, and history. I worked in medical research laboratories for eleven years and thus have a broad knowledge of the basic sciences.
For those students who struggle with math, I taught basic math skills. As a para-educator in the Iowa City Community School District, I tutored on an informal basis in after school study hall for junior high students. I individually tutored special education students at Iowa City West High School. Both of these tutoring experiences covered the entire curriculum of those age groups.
My approach to tutoring includes providing students with the analytical skills necessary to succeed on their own merits.
