Career Development

I hold an M.A. in Sociology from Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI, 5/88) and have worked as a professional in businesses ranging in size from small to Fortune 500 for 20+ years. As a trainer and educator, I carried away lessons from each experience that allowed me to coach and advise others flatten their own learning curves. Career coaching is one of my most successful tutoring subjects. In addition to resume coaching and writing assistance, I provide practical and tested tips and tricks ranging from interviewing to switching careers.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have tutored students at the elementary level for many years. I currently work with students every day and encounter some elementary students. I tutor the students in the subjects of: math, language arts, social studies, English, reading, and writing.

Public Speaking

In addition to advanced public speaking courses as an undergraduate, I participated in a speech contest in high school, moving to the level of state competition. As a canine communicator and behavioral coach, I conduct workshops and speak to groups about training and rescue topics. I have an M.A. in Sociology (Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, 5/88) and am a professional writer and coach.

Social Studies

I graduated with an M.A. in Sociology (Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI 5/88) with a 3.85 GPA and was previously certified to teach Broad Field Social Studies by Cardinal Stritch College (Milwaukee, WI). Additionally, I have tutored and substituted in social studies classrooms for several years, all levels, with the exception of Economics.

I completed an M.A. in Sociology (Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, 5/88) and graduated with a 3.85 GPA.

In the past, I have played on a fastpitch softball team, pitching at a high level of competition (traveling team). I have also coached girls' softball teams, both slow pitch and fast pitch. I enjoy coaching teams, as well as individual players. I focus on teamwork, dedicated and regular practice, self-confidence, strategy, and technique. My coaching includes more subtle strategies, as players advance, e.g., how to not annoy umpires and delayed stealing techniques.

Study Skills

As an educator of 20+ years with significant experience and a continuing interest in learning styles, teaching students to better understand, absorb, and remember material, I am able to help most students improve their study habits and skills. An M.A. in Sociology and a (former) teaching certification in Broad Field Social Studies have added to my expertise in this area.

Web Design

As a professional writer and editor with experience as an instructional designer for several corporations, web design skills have been necessary to me in the business world. Additionally, I am an entrepreneur and design my own marketing tools. While not many of my current students are looking for online tutoring in this subject, I have coached many individuals on this topic.
