I have worked one-on-one a variety of students with special needs including ADD/ADHD. I am well equipped to design a targeted, consistent plan of action to help any student meet their academic goals.
In the past, my programs have focused on helping students set larger targets and then allowing the student to outline and achieve small goals with clear objectives and incentives that build up to the overall targets. I can also help families create a plan for working with teachers, doctors, and school support people in order to ensure that their child is receiving the most thorough set of services currently available.
X's and Y's and Z's. Oh My! Algebra 2 can be a very confusing subject for many students..
In my tutoring sessions, I focus on helping students understand the how's and why's of their Math assignments and their Math class, giving them the tools they need to organize their time and work so that they can be better students.
While assisting my Algebra 2 students with their current work, I also watch for any gaps in their Math basics and provide appropriate activities to help them become better Mathematicians overall.

I am a highly trained, certified teacher who has been teaching study skills for over 15 years.
In high school, I began teaching SAT prep. I assisted students in learning how to understand of their educational strengths and weaknesses, to prioritize their study needs, and to design a clear, attainable study plan that fits their needs and goals.
Since that time, I have continued to work with students of all ages in a variety of disciplines. Over that time, I have developed a very broad “tool box” of skills related to study skills and academic counseling in general that I use to help all students become confident, independent learners.
