Greetings! I am a tutor with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Nebraska. In addition to subbing in various classrooms, I have done six extended sub jobs, all at the request of the teachers. I have spent a lot of time in special education and worked one on one with many students. I have also worked in the public school as an aide.I have spent a lot of time in special education and worked one on one with many students. However, I also enjoy working with students who simply want to excel without being held back by grade boundaries. I have been blessed to be able to connect with most students in a way that makes them feel comfortable. I use a relaxed approach, but have specific goals. I love seeing progress (no matter how small), and I delight in seeing the student see progress as well! My specialty is in writing skills. I created three creative writing courses, which I also instructed to students via e-mail correspondence for twelve years. I also created an essay-writing course for students grades 7-12,which takes all anxiety out of writing the basic four-paragraph essay. Students who took my course reported doing very well on the writing section of the ACT/SAT test. I do not tutor for research papers. Special-ed teachers often request me as a substitute teacher as I have had experience working with students and helping them with their individual progress. While most of my experience is in grades 7-12, I have also had some experience with younger children, not to mention my own two, who I home schooled for 12 years. I love tutoring and I love seeing progress. Maybe we can see progress together.
I have a degree in English, and my essay-writing course has been reported to produce high scores in the ACT/SAT writing sections. I am offering my services only for the writing section preparation for these tests, not other subjects.
While I have not had formal training in Bible teaching, such as seminary, I have read and studied the Bible my whole life. I enjoy learning and sharing the truths of the Bible. I would be most comfortable in a child/youth setting.
I have a B.A. degree in English and have worked as an aide, tutor, and substitute teacher. I also home schooled my own children for 12 years. I created and taught three writing courses to students via e-mail correspondence, and I have been a speaker at home school conferences. My essay-writing course takes all the pain out of writing a basic four-paragraph essay, and students who have taken that course have reported high scores on the writing section of ACT/SAT. I use a relaxed approach to teaching writing skills, which has worked well in pulling in the reluctant writer as well as the gifted.
I am a copyeditor and proofreader with a degree in English, and I also have worked as a substitute teacher in English classes that require editing for various writing projects. I love words and the mechanics of language. Grammar is fun for me, and I enjoy helping others grasp grammar as well. I do not edit research papers. I work well with the reluctant student as well as the gifted.
I have a degree in English. I am a substitute teacher and have worked several extended sub jobs in English classes. While I do not consider myself a literary genius, I do enjoy helping students take a piece of literature and find the practical message that can apply to their own lives or to their own thinking in some way. Critical thinking skills are very valuable in teaching literature, and I enjoy using them.
I am a copyeditor and proofreader with a degree in English. I have also worked as a substitute teacher in English classes where much proofreading was required, such as the school newspaper. I created and taught writing classes (creative and essay)to students via email correspondence for 12 years. In these courses, I proofread and edited every assignment from each student. I love the mechanics of language, and I love helping others to grasp language, too.
I have a degree in English and have worked in high school special ed classes administering reading probes and working individually with students with reading challenges. I love seeing progress in reading, as it is the key to success in other subjects as well. I use a relaxed approach, which works well with reluctant readers.
I have a degree in English. I love new words, and I especially like teaching younger students how to use more words. Text messaging and other social networking have caused us to limit vocabulary rather than enhance it. I'd like to encourage young students to love words and to incorporate them into their practical lives.

My essay-writing course has been reported to produce high scores on the writing section of the ACT/SAT. I use a relaxed approach that works well with reluctant writers as well as with gifted writers.
