I am currently available weeknights and weekends through the summer. Please take into account where we will be meeting for the tutoring when looking at times - I do use public transportation and may have to work around that, depending on the distance of our meeting spot.
I am a Creative Writing and Business Administration double-major at Coe College with a minor in English.
I currently attend Coe College as a junior on the Diversity Leadership Scholarship - which is a full-tuition scholarship from the college based on an essay and an interview. I made Dean's List for the 2011 fall semester and the 2012 spring semester at Coe College. I am interning to produce the horror anthology The Midnight Diner. I graduated Cum Laude from Albuquerque Academy, Class of 2011. I received special letters of recognition from many departments at Albuquerque Academy - including Spanish, English, Mathematics, Science, and History.
I have tutored some friends of mine informally.
I do, however, have interpersonal experience from my current job at CJ Banks and my recent experience at Wal-Mart, where I worked as an electronics sales associate. I converse with customers and utilize my knowledge of our products to be able to acclimate their experiences to their needs. I also worked as a library assistant, where I assisted patrons in locating the material they needed, watched over groups of kids, and committed sections of the Dewy Decimal System to memory, among other duties.
I also was the founder and leader of my high school's slam poetry club, where I wrote poetry and then performed and competed with it on stage, as well as judging competitions of which I was not a part. I am on staff as a manuscript reader and fiction editor for the Coe Review and was co-text editor of my high school's literary magazine, as well. I have also served as part of the Junior Mentors club at my high school, speaking with seventh grade girls about the dangers of passive aggression.

I am staff on three different publications now: Liquid Imagination as Flash Fiction Editor, The Midnight Diner as Intern, and The Coe Review as Manuscript Reader. I have previously served as Fiction Editor for The Coe Review, and as Co-Text Editor of my high school literary magazine, Other Voices.
I write my own work as well, with a completed poetry chapbook that I am hoping to send out soon for publication and at least six short-stories in the works. I am currently taking Literary Analysis and Fiction Workshop II as part of my fall semester courses.
I also tutor a couple of students out in Marion with English and Creative Writing.
Coverage is timely — Christa has been working with my niece for 3 sessions now, and I can tell that my niece is loosening up and working with more ease. The subject matter they are covering is what she really was in need of from day one. She is a great, patient tutor. Too bad she isn't doing it forever. ...
