As a WyzAnt tutor for the last two years, I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of encouraging students of all ages to reach beyond what they thought they knew. I desire that all students would become "life-long learners", seeing their current school subjects as just the beginning in their journey of learning. I tutor by asking questions, hopefully encouraging the student to realize the answer or concept through their own thought processes. I am a hands-on teacher who likes to use real life to teach almost all subjects.

I graduated as valedictorian of my high school class and cum laude from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA with double major in Communications Arts (Broadcasting) and Political Science.

I home-schooled my two children through to high school graduation. I have experience in teaching Language Arts, Math, Algebra, Geometry, U.S. and World History, Bible, Geography, General Science, Social Studies, and Writing.

I have taken college courses in Old and New Testament Survey as well as multiple classes through correspondence in various Bible books and topics, including Genesis, Acts, New Testament, Old Testament, Biblical geography, and theology. I currently hold credentials through the Assemblies of God denomination. I have taught Bible classes in large and small group settings.

Public Speaking

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Arts/Broadcasting which required me to give speeches/presentations both on air (radio and TV) and in front of live audiences. I worked in radio as a News/Sports Director for 3 years, and have additional experience in television in programming, traffic, news, sports, sales & promotions. Microsoft Outlook

I am proficient in Microsoft Outlook, the personal information manager used most often in businesses. Though most often used for email, Outlook also provides calendar, "to-do" lists, contact manager, note-taking and journaling capabilities. If you are needing to upgrade your computer proficiency before heading back out into the job market, Outlook training would be a great place to start.
