I have been a middle school teacher for the past ten years. I am also a parent of a middle school student, and as the parent of a middle schooler yourself, you can empathize!! All kidding aside, I really love teaching this age group. I teach science and am also very familiar with the middle school math curriculum. I have tutored my own child through both these subjects and have taught in an after-school expanded learning math program. Prior to teaching, I spent almost 15 years in the Biotechnology industry in California, which has allowed me to bring real-world experience to the classroom. I have received an Excellence in Teaching Award from the Iowa Academy of Science and have been nominated for 9 consecutive years for the Goldstar Teaching Award.
