I am Yoshie.
I am originally from Japan and I have lived in the U.S. for 10 years.
I graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Art in English Literature.
From that experience, I know how challenging it can be sometimes to learn and master second languages.
I was a Teaching Assistant for Japanese language courses under the Japan Studies Program for 3 semesters at Montana State University.
While I was a Teaching Assistant, I had my own office hours opened for students who needed assistance every week.
I have completed a correspondence course in teaching Japanese as a second language in Japan.
Also I have an Associate of Arts in English from a Japanese college.
I joined a Japanese Club that consisted of a lot of exchange students from all over the world, such as Korea, New Zealand, the U.S., France, and Hungray.I volunteered to teach Japanese them or help their Japanese homework.
Thanks to linguistic classes I took, I am trained to analyze languages objectively. Also from my teaching experience at supplementary schools in Japan, I can coordinate optimal curricula for each students needs.
One of my hobbies is to compose Haiku. Haiku is a style of Japanese short poem written in a 5-7-5 meter.
I attend Maui Hototogisu to polish my Haiku skills with Japanese colleagues.
Creating a comfortable learning environment by supportive communication is my tutoring motto.
Broad motives and age-groups for studying Japanese are welcome!
