I am a native of Mexico who has been living in the United States for many years. During my college experience I developed a love for my mother tongue and its literary tradition and decided to make Spanish my field of study and profession. I'm a candidate for graduate school in Spanish Literature and Culture, a Sigma Delta Pi National Spanish Honor Society member and a Latin American and Iberian culture fan.
Ever since I started studying Spanish I began tutoring other students of all ages in the language, I have assisted professors with their classes and helped my peers with conversational Spanish, grammar, linguistics and essay drafting. I feel that the only way to truly understand and learn the language is to fully immerse yourself in it. For an hour the student will be engaging me in Spanish conversation, we will listen to music in Spanish, and we might watch some Spanish television and films in order to learn the language, both written and oral. If the student is already taking Spanish classes in school, I will review the course curriculum and focus on the areas that the student needs to improve while reinforcing the areas already learned.
To advanced and college level students I offer help with Spanish literature and Spanish writing. I can help students with reading comprehension, text analysis, cultural / historic context, and overall ideas and themes in Spanish Literature and culture.
I'm passionate about the Spanish language and I love to teach it to others. Let me help you develop a passion for it too!
