Dear prospective student,
In high school, I was the go-to girl every time we studied India, Indian culture, and Hinduism. In our Latin class, for three years of high school I was the person that helped my friends and my classmates with all the fun Latin translations. In elementary school, middle school, and high school when we had the Accelerated Reading program I was the one who always helped our team win because I read so many books and passed all the AR tests. In seventh grade I became the first Honor reader for Woodstock Middle School. I was a teacher's helper in middle school for English, Language Arts, and Chorus. Out of school I always helped my friends who were younger than me with their homework that was too hard for them to understand. I always helped my cousins with the problems that their kids had in school. I have proofread many papers that my friends have done.
The only professional tutoring experience that I have ever had was two years ago when my one of the colleague's at my dad's work had a son who was having problems in school and she talked to my dad and my dad told her that I was a pretty smart person and I would love to help her son do better in school. I tutored her son for two months and was going to do it longer unfortunately his mother was ill with bronchitis and couldn't bring him over and we couldn't meet for tutoring. I had fun tutoring him. My favorite part was when I made him alphabetical flashcards that were about animals and plants. He really started to have fun learning when I gave him the flashcards and we also practiced writing the alphabets and also practiced the sentences that his school teacher had given him to do for his week's homework. I will design fun lesson plans and flashcards for all the lessons that I will give your child if I am picked to be their tutor. I am ready to do something worthwhile in my life when I am in the process of starting my studying for my GRE test and might be going back to school to get a degree in medical billing. I also plan to take my GRE test and go to Graduate School for Sociology.
Some credentials that I have are the fact that I love helping people. I love teaching others. I also love helping someone get the good grades that I know that everyone can get. I have sufficient experience with school age kids but have also tutored my classmates when I was in middle school and high school. The main subjects that I have tutored in are English, Social Studies, Literature, and History. I have also occasionally helped tutor in elementary math but very rarely. My personal approach to tutoring is making tutoring fun for the student by making flashcards for the subjects and helping them succeed in finishing their homework. I would also make quizzes for their lessons that would remind them of Jeopardy because I remember taking a class in college and our teacher gave us a few quizzes and one website had the quizzes portrayed like the Jeopardy board game. With my friends I used to play at teaching when we were tweens and teens. As a joke, my best friend named me teacher and said that I would probably be a good teacher when I was older. When I was in high school some of my teachers said that I have all the attributes of becoming a great teacher.
Sincerely,
Your prospective tutor
