Intervention for students who struggle to learn

I go beyond tutoring and provide Educational Therapy. I coach children on how to think rather than what to think. Tutoring typically focuses on content while Educational Therapy builds efficient learning processes. I provide children that struggle to learn with tools that will strengthen their memory, increase reading fluency, foster attention and focus, enhance visual and auditory processing, promote timing and coordination, reduce impulsivity and boost self-confidence.

I have a Master's Degree in Special Education and am certified by 3 therapeutic interventions: Interactive Metronome, PACE (Processing and Cognitive Enhancement) by Learning Rx, and NILD Educational Therapy by the National Institute for Learning Development. All of my sessions are individualized and take place in your home.

Phonics

I have an education degree and use a metronome to help students be able to automatically sound out words.

Special Needs

I have a Master's Degree in Special Education. All student can learn. I ask 3 things of students that struggle to learn. 1) Use repetition, 2) Don't be afraid to make mistakes or fail, 3 )Never give up.

Trombone

I played in the UGA Redcoat band for 5 years. I was band director at East Cobb Middle School for 11 years. I played trombone professionally for over 20 years.

Photography

I was a professional wedding photographer for over 15 years. I have photographed hundreds of weddings and subjects with both film and digital. I have taught photography for several years in community school situations.

ADD/ADHD

I use Interactive Metronome Therapy intervention to empower students to take control of their attention, focus and impulsivity. I have an MA in Special Education.

Dyslexia

I use a metronome and phonetic interventions to help reading fluency. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education.
