A high quality education is the best investment a parent can make in their son or daughter's future. Hiring a private tutor at a modest fee now, can pay big dividends toward your son or daughter's future success. I'm speaking from experience, having raised a son and daughter, both of whom are currently enjoying extremely successful careers. We, as parents, also utilized a private tutor to ensure that our children got the best education available while they were in high school. I have both the knowledge and experience to significantly improve your son or daughter's grades in their science and math classes, as well as other classes. I am patient, dedicated and highly-qualified to make a profound difference in your student's academic performance, in a relatively short time period.
I received an Associate degree in Business Administration from Phillips College (with honors), and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from Alabama State University (with honors). I am a Vietnam era veteran and a Federal Government Senior Forensic Chemist (retired).
I have tutored elementary, middle, high school, and college students for the past 20 years in subjects such as math, science, English, geography, economics, reading comprehension and writing, as well as for the GED, PSAT, SAT, ACT, GHSGT, CRCT, EOCT, ASVAB, TEAS and ACT Compass Test. All of my former students have been extremely successful as a result of my unique approach to in-home tutoring. I have also worked as a tutor for Club-Z Tutoring, Peachtree City, GA. I am also a member of the Partners In Education Program at Sandy Creek High School, Tyrone, GA. I have also served as a volunteer tutor at my church, New Life Presbyterian Church, College Park, GA, and have tutored elementary students for the CRCT at Love T. Nolan Elementary School, College Park, GA.
Additionally, I have successfully tutored students with learning disabilities (ADHD). I enjoy working with and mentoring students, since I never had this opportunity during my 33-year forensic science career. I emphasize effective study and test-taking skills, as well as prepare students to have a successful college experience. I always focus my students' attention on striving for academic excellence. I use my own academic achievements (ranked 4th in my high school graduating class, being the recipient of a full 4-year academic college scholarship, as well as serving as president of two honor societies while in college) to motivate my students. I truly believe that every student is capable of learning. However, some students require one-on-one tutoring to accomplish their goals. Thus, I feel that I am uniquely qualified to help your student achieve his or her academic goals.
