Hey everybody! I am Aris and I am originally from Washington D.C. I moved to Atlanta a couple of years back to be with my wife who is teaching at Spelman. I am currently an assistant professor of mathematics at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
I have been teaching classes for about 16 years and tutoring for about 20 years. I started pretty young and still remember how it is to be a student and struggle in math classes.
I have taught about every math course during my career and can tutor those.
I have taught and tutor many test prep courses over the last few years.
I can tutor pretty much any math subject and basically have tutored every math subject.
That's about it. If you need to know more, just let me know!
I look forward to helping you!
All the best,

I am very open to changing my rate if multiple sessions are set up in advance. I am definitely willing to work with you!
My daughter is a freshman at Georgia Tech and aspires to be an Industrial Designer. She is very artsy and creative and math is definitely not her thing. But she has to take 2 semesters of calculus. She has had several tutors on campus who understood the concepts, but were not skilled in their ability to teach.
We have had 3 sessions with Ari. He is extremely pleasant, professional, and prepared. He arrived with a note pad to work out problems, listened to my daughters questions and found a way each time to answer her in a way she could understand. He obviously loves math and wants to impart his love of the subject to others. He was energetic and involved and kept her attention during every moment. My daughter will never love math, but she loves having math reviewed with Ari and wants to use him for her next semester of calculus!
I also have a high school daughter struggling with math. She has seen Ari in action with her sister and has asked me recently " Can he be my tutor too?"
I cannot recommend him enough. Ari is the math tutor of all math tutors! I cannot thank him enough for restoring my daughter's confidence in approaching math problems.
Great tutor, explained everything in a way I understand and was able to complete the home work.
I would recommend him to anyone who needed help.
He is very patient and thorough.
Friendly, patient, smart, kind, and genuine. My 14 year old thought he was great! We will be using this tutor on a regular basis for sure!
After the tutoring session I constantly heard my student sharing her satisfaction with the tutoring session she had with Aris with her friends. He did a wonderful job elevating her comfort level in math. As she explained the confusion she overcame in the session I was nothing but pleased with the results. She is looking forward to returning to class. Thank you Aris, you are the best!
Dr. W. saved my grade in my first Industrial Engineering course at Georgia Tech. I could not have survived the semester without his help! He was always available to meet with me and was easy to contact. I definitely plan on having him tutor me in the future. Thank you so much!
My student felt he explains things in a very simple and helpful way. We would definitely recommend him to others.
We hired Aris to provide us with feedback and test instruction to make sure our two homeschoolers were ready to take the Clep Exam for College Algebra. He offered us several sessions and went over and beyond to accommodate our students with ample test taking opportunities across a variety of teaching mediums. He was patient and gracious with positive reinforcement. Our son and daughter both appreciated Aris and feel their sessions were effective and needful to ensuring their success. Both our son and daughter passed the test! They are looking forward to getting started with Pre-calc. We are delighted to have worked with Aris and would recommend him as an exceptional instructor.
Great at what he does. Comes prepared and seems excited about what he does. He was a pleasure to work with.
My daughter really likes his approach to Math. He allows her figure out what areas are weakness and work on becoming stronger in those areas.
Aris is one the best teachers I have ever worked with. He was patient, enthusiastic, and always willing to learn new topics if they came up. He is flexible and prompt, and I would highly recommend him!
Aris is an excellent tutor. During my freshman year at Georgia Tech, he helped me pass two extremely hard classes: Calculus III and Probability with Apps. Aris knows how to explain things where they will click with my mind and is very patient. In addition, he utilizes the most up-to-date technology during the tutoring sessions. He always met me on-campus as well, and he was always there when I needed him. Aris completed all of the work I requested from him. I definitely recommend Aris to anyone seeking help in these two subjects. It was a pleasure working with him.
I liked that Aris used his lap top during the session to show examples. He was very organized. My daughter thought he was great and looks forward to working with Aris again.
Aris has been a blessing to my GPA! I am about to graduate from the University of Georgia but was struggling with one of my last classes - precalculus. Aris was always on time (actually early) to all of our meetings and was always easily reached on his cell. I have always struggled with math, but he patiently coached me into getting a 100 on my final and an A in the class. There is no way I could have done it without him! And how many tutors text you ten minutes before your final to give support and remind you of test-taking tips? I would very strongly recommend hiring Aris, you will definitely get your money's worth!
Aris has been a Godsend. His technique is such a good fit for my daughter and she is much more confident going in to her calculus exams now. We will continue to use Aris until she graduates this Spring.
Best tutor we have found! Really understands Calculus! We will use him for Calculus 2 next semester as well as the rest of this semester for Calc 1.
Aris tutored my son in college Calculus 1 and 11. I would highly recommend him. He is very patient and definitely knows the material. He is able to explain the material in a way that is more easily understandable than the book or professors.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
One of the most difficult classes, calculus can be a killer. I probably have taught and tutored this subject more than any other, having taught it for the last 15 years without a break and having graded the AP calculus test a few years back.
My Ph.D is in the area of Partial Differential Equations, I can send you the thesis if you like and I have taught Differential Equations for 5 years at Emory and Henry College from the Boyce and Diprima book. I can send a syllabus upon request.
My Ph.D thesis used linear algebra to approximate the solutions to a partial differential equation. I have also taught the class a number of times.
I have taught a probability course for 2 years at Emory and Henry College. I can even provide a syllabus if you need one. We covered topics such as the probability axioms, Bayes' Rule, probability distributions (discrete and Continuous) and the central Limit Theorem.
