I am a talented and accomplished structural engineer with a masters degree from the top engineering school in Canada, who has designed many important buildings and structures in Atlanta. I have my own engineering firm and possess a love for Math and Physics. I have tutored my 3 daughters who have excelled at these subjects in High School and have attended, or are presently attending prestigious Ivy League Universities- MIT, Harvard Colege, Harvard Medical School,University of Pennsylvania, and London School of Economics, and London School of Tropical Medicine. I have also tutored several other high school students in both subjects preparing them for success in Standardized Tests
In tutoring students, I first focus on ensuring that the student understands concepts and then show them how these concepts are applied systematically to solve problems. As an engineer, I am very experienced at this, since application of math and physics concepts is the essence of engineering. In doing this, the students develop a methodology of thinking that enables them confidently apply principles to arrive at solutions even in problems they have not seen before. I also encourage them to do practice problems to improve their problem solving speed. These problems are usually assigned to them at the end of the tutorial session.
I am sure that I can help your student to master these two important subjects, and even if they do not become engineers, the ability to reason logically that is derived from from learning these subjects well, will help them in any field of endeavor.
