I am a retired educator and a certified tutor. I have degrees from three colleges, and I have law enforcement, as well as military experience. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Fine Art. My Masters degree is in Elementary Education from Georgia College. My Specialist degree is in Educational Administration and is from Georgia State University. I taught nine years in middle school in the areas of Art, Math, and Career Education. The next seventeen years of my career were in High School Administration. I am also a working artist in the area of sculpture.
Writing has always been one of my favorite endeavors. When I retired from education and law enforcement, I got certified as a writing tutor, and I have tutored at a local college. My methods for tutoring writing include diagnosis, mental processing of needed information, guided practice, creative involvement in related areas, and relevant assignments. I have created some teaching tools that include mnemonic devices for remembering comma rules and videos illustrating the personalities of punctuation. Two of my guidelines for tutoring are that it should be creative and fun.
