I am interested specifically in tutoring home schooled elementary students during school hours. If you are in need of tutoring for your student but prefer it not wait until after 2:30 pm through the evening, I will accommodate tutoring between the hours of 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. This is particularly helpful to parents whose children are involved in extracurricular activities and need evening hours free.
For parents of children in public or private schools, I am interested in helping your student as they confidently progress in the areas that they need help in. I am available to tutor your student after school hours.
I have been a stay at home mom / homemaker since 1998. During this time, I home schooled 2 of my 3 children for 4 years while they were in Pre-K, K, 4th, 5th and 6th grade. We were active in a local home school group and did local volunteer activities as a family. When my daughter started 1st grade in the local elementary school, I volunteered, substituted and was later hired as a paraprofessional for a Kindergarten class. I was on staff there for 4 years and had wonderful experience teaching and becoming more familiar with certain assessments that help teachers to individualize curriculum for students. The most important thing to me in teaching is to find out first how a student learns best, and build from there. Each student is uniquely designed and is capable. I have a B.S. in Biology and hold an ASCP Certification in Cytology.
