Konnichiwa (Hello)! I was born overseas (even though I am a US citizen) and moved to Japan when I was 5 years old and resided there for about 20 years. I was educated fully in Japanese through K-9 and then I went to an International high school and switched to all English education (and ironically had Japanese as my second language). So I fully understand how hard it is for you ESL students. I have also traveled to over 30 countries. I also worked as an interpreter and translator for multiple entertainment industries, a peace mission group and the Japanese government in Japan as well as here in Atlanta for a Japanese TV station through the 1996 Olympics. I am currently married to my one and only gifted musician and a piano technician husband of 20 years and we both enjoy photographing people and their lifestyle.
I have been teaching Japanese for several years to homeschool students here at my house. I also have been homeschooling my own children (the eldest just graduated and I have two more high-schoolers to go) and tutored numerous young children over the years in all subjects. It is important to know that your child is never too young to learn a foreign language. The sooner they can hear the pronunciation the better. For Japanese students I prefer you do come to my house since I have a lot more hands-on material here. For all students needing help in English as Second Language or any subject through K-6, the location is flexible.
I am here to serve your needs and fill in those missing gaps or links for your student(s) to succeed in this most confusing educational system. Looking forward to working together and reaching mutually agreed upon goals!
Hello. For over 15 years I have tutored and taught Elementary school children in many settings with many conditions. I currently homeschool my children and have helped neighbor kids (some of them with medical needs) for years in their homework. Certified (over 4 years ago) as a substitute in Dekalb and Gwinnett County has given me the insight to see what is needed to help those who are struggling. I am very resourceful and I am able to find the materials needed to help your student get through their homework more efficiently (and hopefully without tears). Looking forward to working together as a team.
Is your child struggling with writing? Is it tedious for him/her? Well, there are ways out there to make it a little bit more interesting. There are numerous resources in the marketplace for learning and improving handwriting, but the most important thing is finding a method that your child (especially boys) would enjoy and is willing to invest time in doing. I have the experience of writing and teaching in both Japanese and in English for over 30 years and understand some of the mechanics of what it takes to write neatly... and actually enjoy it. Let's give it try together shall we?
