I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia with a double major in history and communication and a master's degree in communication from UGA. I created an education program for a history museum in Atlanta and served as its education director. I also had an internship with NASA’s education department at the Kennedy Space Center. I was a member of the Georgia Department of Education's Social Studies Curriculum Advisory Committee and serve as a social studies consultant for the Governor’s Honors Program. As far as teaching experience, I have taught communication, with an emphasis on historical discourse, on the college level for seven years. I have taught full-time at Georgia Perimeter College and Gainesville State. I have also taught adjunct courses at UGA, Athens Tech and Shorter University.
I like to get students involved in learning, rather than just having them sit there and listen to boring lectures. I like to make material come alive by relating it to what is going on in the world today as well as using unique supplemental resources. I try to meet students where they are because each one is different.
